💕 Today we’re celebrating women everywhere 💕 and especially us women in STEM who keep pushing boundaries, solving problems, and opening doors for the next generation.

To every woman learning, leading, building, researching, teaching, creating, and innovating: your work matters, your voice matters, and you belong here. Thank you for being awesome and doing the hard work, it's not easy.

What's one way you keep up on your spiritual/emotional hygiene? Weird question maybe but still, how do you protect yourself from energy drainers such as people trying to bring you down, traffic, impending deadlines, etc.?

For me, at the end of the day I do some somatic shaking, audible exhales, and bouncing around. This helps me get rid of all the crap from the day that's accumulated so I can rest peacefully (sometimes it works). During the day, I make sure to take many breaks and walk around the office and try to remember to stop every so often to close my eyes and just breathe for a minute. It actually really helps when I remember to do it!

I'd love to hear some of your tips or weird things you do to keep you sane!

It is crucial that we utilize both our FEMININE & MASCULINE energy in the workplace. Yes, both! If you're too masculine people, you will isolate yourself and push people away but if you're too feminine, you won't gain the respect of others and they won't listen to you. And men and women each have BOTH types, it's not just for your gender.

As women, we want to be more in our feminine energy (if you label yourself as a feminine woman that is!) and create inclusivity and comfort. BUT, we must also be assertive and not get walked on or ignored.

  • Needed because you need to:

    • Get along with others

    • Be inclusive

TAKE UP SPACE.

BE INSANE.

BE INTIMIDATING.

You need to intimidate men.

• Be annoying.

• Stop being accomodating.

Our latest post on Insta has to do with looking at the two different sides of STEM that I have worked in thus far in my 5-year career: Working at a university and working at a big company. I loved both of them for different reasons and I think it's very helpful to hear from other people's points of views, especially if you are looking for a career change or are graduating soon.
